Kevin Joy - Executive Math Tutor
Experience and Qualifications
I am a Virginia certified teacher who has taught math in public and private schools in the Washington DC area. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Howard University and Master's degree of Elementary Education from Marymount University. I also participated in a Mathematics Instructional Leaders in Elementary Schools (MILES) math cohort.
I have 26 years of teaching experience working with elementary and middle school students (3rd - 8th grade) as well as extensive tutoring experience. I was a math specialist for 7 years, a middle school math teacher for 5 years, and worked as a math summer camp counselor for 9 years.
I enjoy bowling, watching movies, listening to music, playing trombone, exploring new places with my son, and doing DIY projects.
I am passionate about math education because I also struggled with math in school. I was able to build confidence through my work with a tutor, and I want to do the same for your child.
